| The 1953 Defiance has a Sturmey Archer AW hub, Lycett saddle, and 26" Dunlop rims. The frame does not conform to Raleigh-made specifications. There was a brand of bicycle called 'Defiance' in England during the first part of the 20th century, but this bicycle is likely the product of the C.W.S. "Cycle Wholesalers Service".
